Riddlesden manufacturer Calmag’s investment in staff training continues as one of its employees has successfully completed Level 4 Diploma in Customer Services.

Sophie Bailey, who commenced working at Calmag in 2013, initially to cover a period of maternity leave, has completed a Level 4 Diploma in Customer Services to enhance the Company’s commitment to customers and associates.

It was soon apparent to owners Angela and Charles Wysocki, that they had a perfect candidate to train and develop new skills and Sophie has shown great commitment to take full advantage of the opportunity that she was given to advance her role within both Business Administration and Customer Services.

“We see many employees that come into our business that appear to want to develop but Sophie has shown great character and work ethic to actually follow this through and deserves full credit to reaching this level”, Angela commented.

“We take great pride in offering the opportunity to all our staff members to continually develop as professionals to further enhance their careers with us and Sophie has shown what can be achieved with hard work and commitment.”

“We encourage all staff to develop in this ever-increasing competitive workplace and employees need to take on responsibility to develop and improve. This is what employers are looking for and we always try and assist but finding the right courses over the years has been a challenge, however, we have found the services of Appris Management in Bradford an excellent partner to work with and would like to extend out thanks to Charlotte Gee, who has assisted Sophie with her development.”

Although working in an office environment was not Sophie’s first choice of career, she has taken on new roles and responsibilities and developed from achieving a Level 2 Certificate in Business Administration in 2014, completing her Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration in 2015.

During this period she demonstrated a flair for Customer Service which enabled her to further advance her skills, knowledge and experience by completing her Level 4 Diploma in Customer Services in 2018. To complement this role, Sophie was also tasked with mentoring and managing two Business Apprentices within the Company, and in conjunction with her studies she has completed her ILM Level 2 in Team Leading 2018.

Angela added, “Sophie is a much valued member of the Calmag team and has made us all extremely proud of what she has achieved and is a true example of an individual who has the drive and determination to succeed and will have a successful career in this field.”

“We encourage all staff to develop in this increasingly competitive workplace and employees need to take on responsibility to develop and improve – this is what employers are looking for and we always try and assist but finding the right courses over the years has been a challenge.’

‘We are extremely pleased to have found Graham Webb at Yorkshire Sales & Marketing Developments, who has been an excellent training provider for our sales staff as we have linked the course to real-life situations. This helps our staff to implement what they learn rather than just ticking a box and receiving a certificate.’
