CalIron
CalIron is an iron and manganese removal system. By passing water through a bed of specialised medium, the system removes iron, manganese, aluminium and hydrogen sulphide. The medium causes a reaction between the contaminant and oxygen present in the water. This reaction forms an insoluble precipitate which can then be physically filtered out by the media bed. The media acts as a catalyst and is not used as part of the treatment process. This gives a single filter a longer life. - pH range for effective operation is 6.0 to 9.0.
- Organic iron to be below 0.5ppm.
- Exact contaminant removal properties will be dependant upon the local water quality.
- System performance can be enhanced by using an aerator assembly to optimise oxidation of contaminants, service and drain line flow controllers.
- Fleck 2510 valves are supplied as standard with a bypass piston.
- ‘No bypass’ systems are available at an additional cost. They are supplied with the Fleck 2750 valves.
- All Fleck valves are supplied with 24v motors and a 240v transformer as standard.
- The lifetime of the media depends entirely upon sit conditions and the frequency of backwashing.
- Replacement Filox R and Triplex is available.
